Smart Claims Glossary
This glossary has two groups: Attributes and Metrics. Each group contains categories, select any category to see the Attributes/ Metrics, and Definitions.

Attribute | Definition |

Adjuster Name | An adjuster is the person who typically works in an insurance company and manages the claim on behalf of that company. The last adjuster is the most recent person assigned to manage a claim. |
AI MOI Channel | CCC AI method used to create the file which is reviewed (QE , Smart Estimate, STP, non QE). STP Claim - No Touch or Low Touch claim that successfully went to Partial Release, Manual Review, or Auto Release Pending STP Claim - STP completed successfully, but there is no Estimate of Record (E01) yet Smart Estimate Claim - Jumpstart was successfully completed and did not successfully go through STP channel Quick Estimate Claim - Images upload and approved or estimate available (ECEA/ECIA business events) Non Quick Estimate Claim - Quick Estimate Assignment that did not have images approved, estimate available, or go through Smart Estimate/STP channel. |
Application Name | Specifies which Quick Estimate application which used: (Quick Valuation, Quick Valuation STF, Quick Valuation DRP, and Expressed Estimate. |
Appraiser CBSA | The geographical CBSA location of the appraiser. This information comes from CCC Registration system. |
Appraiser City | The geographical city location of the appraiser. This information comes from CCC Registration system. |
Appraiser Claim Office Level 1-6 | The Claim Office hierarchy levels (1 -6) based on the appraiser type and claim office. For RF and IA appraiser types the office is sources from the claim, Staff appraiser types the office is based on the claim office they are registered to in CLEAR.Levels are defined in the CCC Registration system can be configured by the office location. |
Appraiser Hierarchy Level 1-7 | The management hierarchy levels (1 -7) of the Appraiser who completed the file. Contacts in the CCC Registration system can be configured with a manager. |
Appraiser Login ID | The Appraiser is the actual staff appraiser, repair facility, or independent appraisal company that generated estimates or supplements for a given insurance company. The list will display the concatenated appraiser name and appraiser Login ID for staff appraisers. For repair facilities and independent appraiser companies, the list will display the company’s name. All data for a single vehicle appraisal will be tied back to the appraiser that generated the original estimate of record (i.e. supplements written by that appraiser for his/her own estimates as well as supplements written by other appraiser(s) for his/her own estimates will be tied back to the appraiser that wrote the original estimate of record). |
Appraiser State | The geographical State location of the appraiser. This information comes from CCC Registration system. |
Appraiser Type | Identifies the ‘type’ of appraiser that generated the appraisal. Types include: (Staff Appraise, DRP, Open Shop, Independent Appraiser). |
Assign to AI Appraiser Latest Event Datetime | The business event is generated when the claim is assigned to AI Appraiser via CWF rules engine. |
Assignment Sent Flag | Indicates if the original estimate assignment was sent from the insurance company to the appraiser as sourced from the CCC assignment record. |
Channel Type | Specifies the mobile solution that was leveraged for submitting the photos. |
Claim Number | The alpha-numeric value assigned as the claim number. |
Claim Office Level 1-6 | The Claim Office hierarchy levels (1 -6) based on the appraiser type and claim office. For RF and IA appraiser types the office is sources from the claim, Staff appraiser types the office is based on the claim office they are register to in CLEAR. Levels are defined in the CCC Registration system can be configured by the office location. |
Claim with Supplement Flag | A flag that indicates claims with supplement. |
Completed as QE Flag | Flag denoting if this claim utilized Quick Estimate and images were approved or an estimate was written off the images. This excludes claims with STP. |
CSBA | The geographical CBSA location of the appraiser. This information comes from CCC Registration system. |
Drivable Condition | An indicator used to denote whether a vehicle is considered drivable or not. It has values as Drivable, Non-Drivable or Unknown. |
Estimate Complete Flag | Indicates that the estimate was locked by the appraiser. |
Estimate Start Datetime | The date the first line of the estimate was added to the appraisal. |
Estimate STP Claim Status | Specifies the latest status of the STP Claim. |
First Assignment Sent Date | The date and time the original estimate assignment was sent from the insurance company to the appraiser as sourced from the CCC assignment record. |
First Estimate Appraiser Name | Name of the appraiser who wrote the First Estimate of Record (E01). |
First Estimate Complete Date | The date and time the original First Estimate of Record (E01) was locked. The EORC business code captures this event. |
First Estimate Start Datetime | The date and time the original estimate started the appraisal. |
First QE Assignment Sent Date | The date and time the original quick estimate assignment was sent from the insurance company to the appraiser as sourced from the CCC assignment record. |
Images Upload by WGL Flag | Indicates that the claim leveraged external solution provider WeGoLook (WGL) so that field inspector performed a physical inspection at the Vehicle Location capturing the vehicle damage photos. |
Latest Assignment Status | Specifies if the latest status of the assignment (Sent, Cancelled, Saved, Dispatched, Archived). |
Latest Estimate Complete Date | The date when the Latest Estimate version of the claim was completed. |
Latest File Suffix | The suffix for the latest file version. |
Login Datetime | The date and time the consumer first logged into the Quick Estimate application. |
Login Flag | Indicates if the consumer logged into the Quick Estimate Application. |
Mobile Application | The mobile application that a given claim ended in based on the last status update. |
Mobile Appraiser Pro Flag | Indicates that the photos associated to the claim were uploaded using mobile appraiser pro. This is triggered when Digital image(s) added to this claim folder (OEDIG) business event occurs where the application is Mobile Appraiser Pro is a mobile application (QESTF). |
Mobile Image Upload Date | The date and time the first photo image was uploaded by the mobile application. First event that occurs between STP Process Started (STPST), Image Uploaded (ECRI) from We Go Look, Quick Estimate, Estimate STP, and CCC Resolve. |
Mobile Image Upload Flag | Indicates if the consumer uploaded photo image using the mobile application. |
Post Authoring Score Ranges | The score ranges associated to the post authoring score between the upper and lower limit. The post authoring is generated as a result of STP when comparing P01 vs E01. |
Primary POI | Provides info about primary point of impact for the loss; whether it was front, rear, right, left, left front, all over, etc. |
QE Assigned Flag | Indicates that the claim was assigned as a quick estimate. |
Repairable Condition | Repairable is a Condition attribute that identifies that the loss vehicle can be repaired. |
SE Completed No Prediction Flag | Indicates a rental car was used. |
SE Eligible Flag | Indicates smart estimate is eligible. |
SE Jumpstart Clicked Flag | Indicates smart estimate clicked. |
SE Part Selector Click Count | The count of lines where smart estimate part selector clicked on the claim. |
SE Prediction Error Flag | Indicates smart estimate prediction error. |
Secondary Company | The underwriting company for the estimate. |
Secondary POI | Provides info about secondary point of impact for the loss, whether it was front, rear, right, left, left front, all over etc. |
STP Flag | A 0/1 flag noting the STP touch: 1 - Claim is "Low Touch" or "No Touch" 0 - Claim is neither "Low Touch" or "No Touch". |
STP Process Started Date | This date and time the STP contract is enabled and claim starts to flow into STP. |
STP Result | Provides the result the of the AI generated estimate based on the post authoring threshold. (Fail or Success). |
STP Status | The route the claim took based on the confidence of Estimate STP. This can be auto approved, manual/partial, or rejected. |
STP Touch | Indicates whether a SPT claim is either "Low Touch" or "No Touch" based on the difference between the Preliminary Estimate (P01) and the first Estimate of Record (E01) file amounts. "Low Touch" is triggered when P01 doesn't equal E01 and "No Touch" is triggered when the P01 equals the E01. |
TCOR Band | An amount range associated to the total cost of report amount between the upper and lower limit. |
Vehicle Age | The length of time since Vehicle Model year to Time of loss, it is typically measured in years. |
Vehicle CBSA | Short for “Core Based Statistical Area”, CBSA refers to the Census bureau defined metropolitan area (areas with a population greater than 50,000) or micropolitan area (areas with a population between 10,000 – 49,999) where the vehicle owner resides. |
Vehicle Location | State location that is used to validate if Estimate STP can be run based on state configuration rules. |
Vehicle Make | The brand or manufacturer of a vehicle, representing the company that designed, produced, and marketed the vehicle. |
Vehicle Model | The specific version or variant of a vehicle produced by a manufacturer. It typically includes details such as trim level, options, and features that distinguish it from other models within the same make. |
Vehicle Owner State Name | The state for the vehicle owner. The state is derived from the zip code of the vehicle owner. |
Vehicle Year | The model year or production year of the vehicle, representing the calendar year in which it was manufactured. It is often used to determine the age and specifications of the vehicle. |

% of Time spent in SE | For a given claim, how long does an appraiser spend within Smart Estimate out of the total time it takes from Estimate start to Estimate Complete in relation to the total time it takes to complete the estimate. The time from Jumpstart to SE Close divided by Estimate Start to Estimate Complete (Smart Estimate only claims). |
APD Claims | In the STP Operational Tab, this is defined as all claims processed by the insurance carrier in a given time period. |
Assign Sent to Est Complete Hours | Duration between Assignment Sent and Estimate Complete (hours). |
Assign Sent to Est Upload Days | The number of days from when the estimate assignment was sent to when the estimate is uploaded. This metric measures the efficiency of the quick estimate workflow, reflecting the typical turnaround time from when the estimate assignment was sent to when the estimate is uploaded. |
Assign Sent to Est Upload Volume | Claims that have sent an assignment and uploaded an image. |
Assign Sent to Login Hours | Duration between Assignment Sent and Quick Estimate First Login (hours). |
Assign Sent to Login Volume | The number of claims that have sent an assignment and quick estimate first login. |
Assign Sent to Mobile Image Upload Hours | Duration between Assignment Sent and Mobile Image Upload (hours). |
Assign Sent to Mobile Image Upload Volume | The number of claims that have sent an assignment and uploaded a mobile image. |
Assign Volume | The number of claims that are flagged as Assignment Sent. |
Assignment Sent to Estimate Complete | The number of hours from First Assignment Sent to the First Estimate Complete. This metric measures the efficiency of the estimate workflow, reflecting the typical turnaround time from first assignment sent to first estimate complete. |
Avg Est Time Completed in SE | Average time estimates are completed within Smart Estimate. |
Avg Hints Accepted | Average number of hints accepted by the staff appraiser in Smart Estimate. |
Avg Hints Remaining | Average number of hints remaining in Smart Estimate. |
Avg Lines at SE Close | The average number of lines after closing Smart Estimate. |
Avg Lines on E01 | The average number of lines on the First Estimate of Record. |
Avg Lines on P01 | The average number of lines on the Predictive Estimate of Record. |
Avg Supplement Amt | The average supplement amount associated to the estimate. |
Avg TCOR at SE Close | The average TCOR or total cost of repair after Smart Estimate close. |
Avg TCOR on E01 | The average TCOR or total cost of repair on the first Estimate of Record. |
Avg TCOR on P01 | The average TCOR or total cost of repair on the first Predictive Estimate of Record. |
Avg Total Hints | Average number of hints available in Smart Estimate. |
Claim Appraisal Count | The number of claims that have both a First Estimate Complete Datetime and is flagged as Quick Estimate. |
Claim Volume | Number of unique claims. |
Claim with Supplement Volume | The number of claims with at least one supplement on the estimate. |
Completed as QE Volume | The number of claims that were completed as Quick Estimate. |
Drip to Est Complete Time | The difference in minutes from when a preliminary estimate is assigned to a drip bucket and when the first estimate is completed. |
Drip to Make Changes Time | The difference in minutes from when a preliminary estimate is assigned to a drip bucket and when the STP appraiser first selects makes changes. |
Drip to Manual Approved Time | The difference in minutes from when a preliminary estimate is assigned to a drip bucket and when the STP appraiser manually approved the estimate. |
Drivable Volume | Claims with a drivable indicator flagged as Yes. |
E01 Line Count | Total number of lines on the first estimate. |
E01 TCOR | Total Cost of repair on the first estimate. |
Est Cmplt to Latest File Cmplt | The number of days from when the Estimate was completed to when the latest file was completed. |
Est Complete Volume | Count of claims that have a estimate complete. |
Est Start to Complete (Min) | How long it took to complete the first estimate. |
Est Time Completed in SE % | What percent of claims estimates are completed within Smart Estimate. |
Est Upload % | What percent of assignments had an estimate uploaded. |
Estimate Lines at SE Close | Number of lines on the estimate after closing Smart Estimate. |
Estimate Start to Complete Time (Min) | How long it took to complete the first estimate. Calculated by taking the time difference between Estimate Start to Complete. |
First Estimate Supplement Amount | The TCOR associated to the supplement on the estimate. |
FNOL to Login | The average number of days from the First Notice of Loss to when the consumer logged into the Quick Estimate application. This metric measures the efficiency of the quick estimate workflow, reflecting the typical turnaround time from First Notice of Loss to Login. |
Hint Completion % | Percentage of hints accepted out of the total number of hints. |
Hints Accepted | Number of hints accepted by thestaff appraiser. |
Hints Ignored | Number of hints ignored by the staff appraiser. |
Hints Remaining | Number of hints remaining or ignored within Smart Estimate. |
Image Upload to Est Complete Hours | Duration between Image Uploaded and Estimate Complete (hours). |
Image Upload to Est Start Days | The number of days from when the consumer submits the first photo through the mobile application to when the estimate is started. |
Image Upload to Est Upload Days | The number of days from mobile image upload to estimate upload. This metric measures the efficiency of the quick estimate workflow, reflecting the typical turnaround time from when the mobile image is uploaded to when the estimate is uploaded. |
Image Upload Volume | The number of claims that have a mobile image uploaded. |
Images Upload by WGL Volume | The number of claims leveraged in external solution provider WeGoLook (WGL) so that field inspector performed a physical inspection at the Vehicle Location capturing the vehicle damage photos. |
Jumpstart Success Click Count | Number of claims where jumpstart is successfully clicked for an Smart Estimate eligible claim. This excludes successful STP claims. |
Latest Est Assign to Est Upload Days | The number of days from when the estimate is assigned to when the estimate is uploaded. This metric measures the efficiency of the quick estimate workflow, reflecting the typical turnaround time from when the estimate is assigned to when the estimate is uploaded. |
Lines Completed in Legacy % | The number of lines on an estimate completed outside of the Smart Estimate tool as a percent of the total lines on an estimate. |
Lines Completed in SE % | Percentage of lines completed within Smart Estimate. |
Login % | What percent of assignments had the user login to the application to take Quick Estimate photos. |
Login to Photo Upload | The number of hours from when the consumer logs in to the Quick Estimate application to when they upload the first photo of their vehicle. |
Login Volume | Count of claims with Quick Estimate First Login. |
Min Jumpstart to SE Close | The time in minutes from clicking jumpstart estimate to closing the Smart Estimate tool. |
Mobile Image Upload Claims | In the STP Operational Tab, this is defined as claims where there is a mobile image upload and Estimate STP started (STPST business event). |
Non-STP Photo Claims | In the STP Operational Tab, this is defined as claims with an estimate uploaded (E01) but Estimate STP exited due to advisor conditions or due to not qualifying for Estimate STP (STDNQ event). |
Non QE Est. Upload % | The percentage of quick estimate claims that were uploaded as non-quick estimate uploaded. |
Non SE Claim Volume | The number of claims that haven't gone through Smart Estimate. |
P01 Created to Drip time | The difference in minutes from when a preliminary estimate is generated to when the preliminary estimate is assigned to a drip bucket. |
P01 Download to Est Complete Time | The difference in minutes from when a preliminary estimate is downloaded to when the first estimate is completed. |
P01 Generated Claims | In the STP Operational Tab, this is defined as claims where a preliminary estimate was generated from Estimate STP (STPPG event), it was not null (STPPN event did not trigger), and the claim was marked as repairable. |
P01 Line Count | Total number of lines on the predictive estimate. |
Pending STP Claims | In the STP Operational Tab, this is defined as claims with a preliminary estimate generated from Estimate STP (STPPG event), but there hasn't been an Estimate of Record yet (E01). The claim is also repairable. |
Precheck Qualification Claims | In the STP Operational Tab, this is defined as claims that passed pre-check for Estimate STP and are repairable. |
QE Claim Volume | The number of claims that are flagged as Quick Estimate. |
QE Est. Upload % | The percentage of quick estimates where an estimate was uploaded. |
SE Claim Volume | The number of claims that have gone through Smart Estimate. |
SE Completed % | Percent of Smart Estimate eligible claims that used Smart Estimate. |
SE Eligible Volume | The number of quick estimate claims that eligible for Smart Estimate. |
SE Jumpstart Clicked % | Percentage of claims that successfully clicked jumpstart. |
SE Jumpstart Clicked Volume | Count of claims with Smart Estimate Jump Start Clicked. |
SE Prediction Error Volume | Count of claims with Smart Estimate Prediction Error. |
SE Succ. Completed Volume | The number of quick estimate claims that were completed as Smart Estimate successfully. |
STP Claim Volume | The number of quick estimate claims that are flagged as STP (Touch or No Touch). |
STP E01 Line Automation % | The percentage of total lines that appeared on the first estimate that was captured by the preliminary estimate. |
STP E01 TCOR Automation % | The percentage of total repair cost that appears on the first estimate that was captured by the preliminary estimate. |
STP Eligible Claims | In the STP Operational Tab, this is defined as claims that are eligible for Estimate STP based on the carriers configuration for that state. The claim is also repairable. |
Successfully Completed Without Prediction Volume | The number of claims that were successfully completed without prediction. |
Supplement Amount | For claims with a supplement, what is the average TCOR provided by supplements. |
Supplement Frequency % | What percentage of total claims had a supplement. |
Take Rate % | Percentage of assignments that had a photo captured. |
TCOR | The total cost of repair that's associated to the estimate. |
TCOR at SE Close | Total Cost of Repair after closing Smart Estimate. |
TCOR Completed in SE % | % of total TCOR completed in Smart Estimate. |
Total Hints | Total Number of hints available in Smart Estimate. |
Total Supplement Count | Number of supplements on a specified claim. |
Video Upload Count | The number of quick estimate claims that have a video uploaded. |
